New Office Locations  

Analytical Services, Inc. (ASI) is pleased to announce the opening of two new offices. Our Culpeper branch office has moved to a new location at 402 N. West Street. After several months of renovation we are pleased to be moved into our new space which retains much of the character of the early 1920 era structure. Our office is headed by Michael L. Maloy, CPG who has over fourteen years of groundwater consulting experience. Our centralized location lies within 1½ hours or less of the following localities: Leesburg, Fairfax, Winchester, Harrisonburg, Charlottesville, Richmond, Fredericksburg, Staunton and Wintergreen.

ASI is also pleased to announce the opening of our new satellite office in Lenoir, North Carolina. The office is located at 808 Harper Avenue in the Harper Building. Due to an increase in groundwater consulting work over the last two years the decision to open this office was an easy one. We welcome you to stop by.

New Project Work

County-Wide Hydrogeologic Assessment
ASI has recently been awarded a contract to complete a county-wide Hydrogeologic Assessment for Caldwell County, North Carolina. The project will involve an assessment of groundwater availability and groundwater sensitivity on a county-wide scale.

Corrective Action Plan and Alternate Water Supply Wells
ASI has recently developed a corrective action plan that involves developing a strategy for completing new groundwater supply wells as a means for alternate water supply. The project involves several domestic wells that have been impacted by a release of petroleum into the bedrock aquifer. Our workscope has included down-well geophysical surveys of select impacted wells to determine the number and orientation of water bearing zones within the wells. The findings from this work have allowed us to better understand the hydrogeology of the site and will be useful in locating new alternate water supply well locations.

Well Head Protection Plan
ASI is currently completing a well head protection plan (WHPP) for nine wells that have been completed within the Yadkin River basin. The wells, which were recently pump tested at a combined rate of more than 1,000,000 gallons per day, will be used to supplement the existing public water supply.

New Staff

ASI is pleased to announce the addition of Andrew Carter and Spencer Morris to our staff in the Culpeper, Virginia office. Andrew will be assuming the position of senior environmental scientist and project manager. Andrew has over 10 years of experience in the environmental consulting field and has extensive experience in aquifer testing and data analyses. Andrew received his M.S. in Environmental Science (Hydrology Specialty) from the University of Virginia.

Spencer Morris will assume the position of staff geologist and is a recent graduate of Appalachian State University (B.S. Geology). Spencer’s familiarity with the geology and hydrogeology of North Carolina is an asset to our continued project work in that State.
